Don't apply online. They will accept your photos then reject them later. No card and they refuse a refund. Disgusting rip-off.

Further to my previous review, as requested I have paid to obtain a copy of my marriage certificate from my first marriage. I have sent them an uploaded image of it .Baring in mind the marriage was 42 years ago and has been dissolved for 12 years , they asked me to provide evidence of it. I have been emailed today to say they have left a message for my professional referee , and my application has been paused yet again. I've never in my life been made to feel like a fraudulent person as I have during this process. My application was made on the 22nd of March and as of today's date ,9th of May, I'm still waiting. They have had images of my birth certificate, my valid passport, my first and second marriage certificates and divorce documents. My referee has supplied his professional registration details. I wanted the card so that I could vote in the recent council elections as I do not drive, so have no Drivers Licence and my passport has not yet been renewed in my current married name. I have spoken to the passport office and their lead time is currently 10 weeks due to industrial action, but they said all I need to do is send my current passport with my new marriage certificate ( both of which this company have already seen uploaded images of ) I will lose the remaining 18 months on my current passport and it will cost me around £100 , but its worth it to avoid having my time wasted and integrity doubted by this company any longer. By whose authority do they act anyway and how can the public be assured that they are abiding by the General Data Protection Regulations ? They've even refused to refund my £15 because " its not their fault that I haven't supplied everything they have asked for ". Avoid this process. It is discriminatory against married women. ….I expected the sanctimonious reply below, because it’s their standard reply to everyone. I’ve supplied everything they’ve asked for , paid the charge and still no card after 6 weeks. I’m fairly sure I won’t get it either. I will follow this up with a third party ombudsman because I’m still not convinced that they are entitled to operate in the way they do.

Waste of time and money this is not accepted as a photo proof of identity

Very easy to do online with my phone using an expired photo driving licence, and 3 days later I had an ID in my hands.

Excellent service which is easy to use. I needed photo ID in a hurry & Citizen Card was the best option, the whole process was straight forward as after creating an account you are guided through each step clearly. All processes are quite simple if you use a combination of a PC, Mac or Chromebook with a scanner to scan any documents you might use & upload them, also a smart phone so you can take a selfie to upload & add to your card. Once done a referee of your choice will be contacted to verify your details to complete your application. I started the process on a Thursday night using the urgent option, on the Friday my referee was contacted & my details verified & on the Saturday my new card arrived in the morning with Royal Mail. It could have not gone any smoother or faster, I'm very pleased with the card & the ease of the process.

Crap I wish I never brought one I throw it in the bin. It is not a legitimate company it’s a private company. It is up to the company that you are showing it to whether or not they accept it. It is not a legal document therefore cannot be used as ID some pubs or clubs might take it may not police will accept it as they would accept anything

The questions were straight forward and understandable, all elements of the application forms were easy to use. I had no problems at all with my application. CitizenCard delivered on the day expected.
